Checking In

WE MOVE TOMORROW!

We moved half our stuff on Wednesday, which turned out to be more than half, since I'm almost done re-packing the suitcases we emptied, and we didn't re-fill all the bags, so YAY!

I actually have a post half-written about something else, but moving took over my time. Here's why...

I like that the art connects the kitchen and living room colors.

Guest room.

Left is the hall, right is Brett's office. They share a LARGE balcony.

View from that balcony.

That last picture? I had to take a close-up of the stairs because they appear to be flecked with mica? Or something. They sparkle. But the sparkles didn't translate to the photo.

    1. When we lived State-side, we had a 1,000sq.ft. apartment. Our next apartment in Beijing was tiny. Our first apartment here in Vietnam was even smaller. This place is about 1,500 sq.ft., not counting the 3rd floor (storage) which is laundry and yoga space. SO MUCH cleaning!

    2. my apt is just under 1000 square feet i think. It's quite big really, I just wish I had an upstairs!

    3. I had told my husband that I didn't want to live anywhere larger than 1000, because that was enough cleaning. I can already tell I'm never going to stay on top of it here.

  2. It's just brilliant that right after "Here's why..." you have a picture of those stairs. I thought, well, of course, you're saving your strength for the stuff you've gotta schlep up to the second floor.
Have a sparkly fun time moving in!

    1. Not joking, stairs are a lot of cleaning. I've almost injured myself twice. That black on black is difficult!

    1. We're relieved to be able to take our time with this one. No rush. Each day we get a new item and I clean a new thing.

    1. Funny story. When we live State-side, we kind of set a rule to never have overnight guests (our two young nieces excepted). But now, if anyone comes our way, it is probably definitely longer than a day-trip, and with the huge expense of getting here, asking our visitors to pay for a hotel seems kind of obnoxious.
      Plus, now we have space!

  5. I love your new place - so open and bright and light! I want to come and visit because it looks so inviting - and anyone with sparkly stairs gets extra brownie points from me :)

    1. If you ever find yourself in Vietnam, let me know! Hoi an is on the central coast, not Hanoi, not Saigon. If you trek the country, you'll pass me.

I enjoy a good debate. Feel free to shake things up. Tell me I'm wrong. Ask me why I have such a weird opinion. ...or, just laugh and tell how this relates to you and your life.
