Wednesday Poetry Corner: Lyrics

All song lyrics are poems, aren't they? I recently heard Crazy by Gnarls Barkley while I was out at a restaurant. Do you remember that song from 2006?

For some reason, in that moment/location/situation, it sounded so poetic I felt the need to share. But the way lyrics read, they include all the repeated words, the "mm's" and "yeah's", so here is my take on the poetry of the lyrics.

Lyrics found online courtesy of musixmatch.com, but I am removing the repetition, mm's, and yeah's, for more poetic reading.

Crazy
by CeeLo Green, Danger Mouse, and Gnarls Barkley

I remember when I lost my mindThere was something so pleasant about that placeEven your emotions have an echo in so much space
And when you're out there without careYeah, I was out of touchBut it wasn't because I didn't know enoughI just knew too much
Does that make me crazy?Possibly

And I hope that you are having the time of your lifeBut think twice, that's my only adviceCome on now, Who do you think you are?Ha-ha-ha, bless your soulYou really think you're in control, well
I think you're crazyJust like me

My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on the limbAnd all I remember is thinking "I want to be like them"
Ever since I was little, it looked like funAnd it's no coincidence I've comeAnd I can die when I'm done.

But maybe I'm crazy
 Maybe you're crazy
 Maybe we're crazy
 Probably

I enjoy a good debate. Feel free to shake things up. Tell me I'm wrong. Ask me why I have such a weird opinion. ...or, just laugh and tell how this relates to you and your life.
