Yes! #AtoZChallenge

What have you been saying "Yes!" to during this lockdown, when we are denied so many things we are used to?

Personally, I find that I have said Yes to reading. In the past month and a half I have finished 4 books, made progress in a long one that I have going, and I'm due to finish a re-read of Hamlet before April is out. That's pretty quick for me, because I tend to put writing time before reading.

I have said Yes to naps. This is not wholly unusual, but I'm doing it with greater frequency these days. Maybe I'm not sleeping as well at night, but still - Naps!

I am saying Yes to language study. I'm learning both Vietnamese and Mandarin. I have been for a while, but I'm more in the mood to study. Not much more, but my attitude about it is better, anyway.

What about you? Any new or renewed Yesses in your new normal?

  1. Yes to the new flowers blooming everyday ;) And I resurrected a moribund plant, so YES!! Wow, Vietnamese and Mandarin are not easy languages ;)

    1. Beautiful! I am terrible with plants. I greatly admire people with a green thumb.

  2. Somedays I say, YES to eating what my heart desires. Other days, I say YES to binge-watching Downton Abby. Some days I say YES, in going into town, donning my mask of course and shopping for plants. Then the next day I hear that someone else in the county has tested positive and I regret that YES.

Probably better to say YES to the chocolate ice cream and binge watching, whatever my heart desires.

    1. I have discovered the joys of Oreo ice-cream bars. Cookies-n-cream ice cream on a stick, covered in a chocolate coating made of the cookies! Soooo decadent.

  3. I said Yes to doing the A to Z Challenge. I had already done it for five consecutive years and had planned to sit this one out, but at the last minute someone convinced me I should go ahead and join in again, so I did.

    1. That's a good point! I said that Yes, too! Didn't know if I'd make it the whole way, or even if I had anything to say. We did it!

  4. I said yes to streaming services. A year ago I had none. Now I have four. How did that happen?

    1. I know that many streaming services offered a certain amount of free connection because everyone is now home with time on their hands. Did that play into your decision? That's how we ended up with Hulu and Disney+!

    2. That's how I ended up with CBS All Access. I'll cancel as soon as the season of Good Fight is over. But my cell carrier partnered with Hulu, so that's being paid for with my cell bill. (No extra. Part of the service.) And I got a new iPhone, so that got me Apple + for a year.

  6. Oh naps these days are glorious. I'm also enjoying nice long (alone) walks. Congrats on your A to Z!

I enjoy a good debate. Feel free to shake things up. Tell me I'm wrong. Ask me why I have such a weird opinion. ...or, just laugh and tell how this relates to you and your life.
